Celebrate new work with Theatre Thursdays and To Catch a Fish! Theatre Thursdays, established by The League of Chicago Theatres, provides an inside look at the creative process behind never-before-seen productions. Join us for Theatre Thursday on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30pm for a deep dive into our World Premiere of To Catch a Fish. You’ll receive discounted admission to the production and an exclusive pre-show event and discussion with members of TimeLine’s Playwrights Collective, including Brett Neveu, playwright of To Catch a Fish.
To Catch a Fish is the first play to be produced that was written and developed through TimeLine’s Playwrights Collective, launched in 2013 to support Chicago-based playwrights in residence and create new work centered on TimeLine’s mission. Peek behind the curtain as Playwrights Collective members Neveu, Tyla Abercrumbie and Calamity West answer questions about their writing process and current projects, with moderation by TimeLine Literary Manager and Company Member Ben Thiem. Light refreshments will also be provided.
Use discount code THTH to access $20 package tickets, good for admission to the production and to the Theatre Thursday pre-show reception and discussion, or purchase tickets here.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Inspired by true events, this new play examines how the pursuit of justice can devastate a family and community. In a low-income neighborhood of Milwaukee, Terry Kilbourn has begun a new job passing out flyers for a discount warehouse. When his bosses start asking more of him, his loved ones begin to question what is really going on. As higher stakes are revealed and relationships tested, the clarity of who to trust and what to believe grows murky. TO CATCH A FISH walks the line between good intentions and deceit, testing the bonds we have to family and community.
