Apr 17: Elephant: A Comedy (Reading)

Join Windy City Playhouse for the first event in its new works reading series, The Sandbox!
This new artistic initiative was conceived in 2016 by Playhouse Artistic Director Amy Rubenstein & Artistic Associate Carl Menninger. In the vein of the Playhouse's mainstage programming, this reading series both offers unique opportunities artists, while also creating an inviting space for "non-traditional" theater patrons to get an inside look at the new play development process. Both the reading itself and the discussion to follow will be structured such that theater professionals and novices alike will be able to learn about the writing process, provide critical feedback to the writer, and above all, be entertained.

Monday, April 17, 2017 at 7:00pm
at Windy City Playhouse | 3014 W. Irving Rd., Chicago, IL 60618

Elephant by Ivan Faute, directed by Carl Menninger
Featuring: Eric Gerard, Jaclyn Holtzman, Matt Maxwell, Brian McCaskill, Teri Schnaubelt, and Amy Rubenstein

The Playhouse invites the community to enjoy a reading of the new play, Elephant: A Comedy. When Susan Billough brings home an elephant from Africa as her fiancé, it leads to a chain reaction of accusations and confessions about family indiscretions. As each sibling or parent's crime eclipse the previous, we learn that everyone is guilty of something, and blame is all relative.

This event is FREE and open to the public. RSVPs are strongly recommended. To RSVP, click here.
