From Page to Stage Series - A New American Dream

Writers' Theatre is proud to present the thirteenth annual From Page to Stage series. This comprehensive series of special events, lectures, workshops, and performances are designed to enhance and enrich your appreciation of Buried Child.

Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 7 pm
Hosted by Glencoe Public Library | 320 Park Avenue, Glencoe, IL 60022

The family at the center of Sam Shepard's Buried Child grapples with a changing America in an era of rapid growth for some of the population, but not all. As we watch them fight for self-preservation, questions arise about how we can achieve success in an America where the American Dream is a moving, evolving target. How do we prepare our childrenfor success in a world where the definition of success constantly changes? Join us as we welcome Matthias Doepke (Northwestern University), who will share a presentation on how we, and our families, work toward a "New American Dream."

This event is FREE and open to the public. RSVPs are requested to reserve your seat. To reserve your seat, please click here.
