Since 2014, El Semillero (Spanish for seedbed or nursery) is a Chicago-based playwriting circle dedicated to fostering emerging Latinx playwrights and their work. Sponsored by ALTA Chicago (The Alliance of Latinx Theater Artists) and in residency at Victory Gardens Theater, El Semillero fosters playwrights developing first drafts of original plays over the course of 12 months, culminating in a series of free public readings.

A lesbian AF summer wedding, a ride or die pocha friendship, August in Chicago when you just need a paleta. An attempt to explore the vows we make and break to ourselves and others. Expect to pop off some bubbly stuff, crunch a salty chip after the reading bc pochas, bc bodas
