Hailed by the San Francisco Classical Voice as “not only an elegant musician but also a technician of the highest order,” David Russell is recognized the world over for his superb musicianship and inspired artistry. His album Aire Latino received a Grammy Award, and in 2018 he was inducted into the Guitar Foundation of America Hall of Fame. An honorary member of “Amigos de la Guitarra,” the oldest guitar society in Spain, Russell is also a Fellow of London’s Royal Academy of Music and a recipient of the Medal of Honor from the Conservatory of the Balearics. His latest album release, Cantigas de Santiago, features contemporary works written for him by Stephen Goss, Matthew Dunne, and Sérgio Assad.
