Brecht’s masterpiece “Mother Courage And Her Children” inspired a look into Chicago’s possible tomorrow, following the fortunes of Mother C and those who rely on her wiles to survive the effects of martial law. Expanding on the devastating effects of America’s endless wars (and the blindness of anyone hoping to profit by it), playwright Valentine also focuses on those cut out of Chicago’s political machinery.
