With “wonderful fluidity and subtlety of expression” (Birmingham Post), lutenist Nigel North has appeared in recital at London’s Wigmore Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus, San Paulo’s International Guitar Festival. His recordings of the sonatas of Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber’s sonatas won both Gramophone Classical Music and Edison Awards. North is a co-founder of the award-winning ensemble Romanesca, and his extensive list of collaborators includes the Academy of Ancient Music, the Brandenburg Consort, the Purcell Quartet, and the Hilliard Ensemble.
