05.15.2017 06:25:00
Writers Theatre's Sunday Spotlight
Are you curious about the world that surrounds your favorite plays? Sunday Spotlight offers access to the finest speakers, academicians and cultural leaders. This one-hour event takes place following select Sunday matinees and extends the conversation on Writers Theatre's stages by featuring an expert in an area connected to the play. For example, past audiences have learned from the experiences of Holocaust survivor Aaron Elster in a layered discussion around The Diary of Anne Frank and explored the nature of suspicion in Doubt: A Parable with the Director of Northwestern’s Center on Wrongful Convictions Karen Daniel.

Sunday, May 21, 2017 following the 2:00pm performance
Green Family Rehearsal Room at Writers Theatre | 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe, IL 60022

Sunday Spotlight:
This event directly follows the conclusion of the 2pm matinee performance. Start time is approximate.

The Mystery of Love & Sex:
Charlotte and Jonny have grown up together, and are now trying to determine whether their close friendship might be something more. When they discover exactly what “more” actually entails, however, it comes as a surprise to them both—and to Charlotte’s parents, who are holding secrets and resentments of their own. This compelling, spirited story of intricate relationships is an entertaining and explosive look at race, sexual identity and family dynamics.
