New Playwrights’ Festival

Eleven unpublished, new plays will be read over the course of the festival from July 26-August 1, 2021. Professional judges, the BAC team, and the audience will vote on the plays. The play that receives the highest score will be awarded a full staged production in the BAC’s 2021-22 Professional Theatre Series. The schedule of the plays is as follows:

Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 7pm “Snowglobes. Tattoos. Scars that look like Trees” by Maria Welser

Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 7pm “Burning House” by Joe Nelms

Friday, July 30, 2021 at 7pm The Sometimes Inaccurate (but mostly accurate) History of the World” (ONE ACT) by Kristina Newcomb and Isabella Van Housen and “The Mockingbird’s Nest” (ONE ACT) by Craig Bailey

Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 3pm “Death by Word” (ONE ACT) by Alison Reeger Cook and “Passing Notes” (ONE ACT) by Joe Cameron

Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 7pm “Finding Neil Patrick Harris” by Donna Hoke

Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 3pm “The Poet in White” by Hope Campbell

Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 7pm “Grey” by Kristen Benjamin
