(X) Collective

(X) Collective is a group of theatre artists in Chicago whose mission is to be in conversation and collaboration with our communities through service, reciprocal relationship-building, and community experiences.

Theatre is what brings us together as a collective, but community is our purpose. We’re exploring what it means to be the connective tissue between our industry and the community, and how we can utilize our unique positioning and skill sets to show up, serve, and build.

(X) Collective builds community through three interconnected practices:

Gathering

We create spaces where people can come together: around a table, in a theatre, in a park. Our gatherings include community meals, game nights, the Mosaic Series, and live performance events that center joy, connection, and belonging.

Resourcing

Through The Annex (coming soon!), our community resource hub, we work to meet people where they are, connecting our community to meals, care packages, information, and one another.

Partnering

We collaborate with local theatres, community organizations, and artists to produce experiences that serve their missions and deepen community roots across Chicago.
