Where is Everybody was developed both at the Neil Simon Festival (Cedar City, Utah) in 2016 and with Panndora Productions (Long Beach, California) in 2015. The script was the winner of the Neil Simon Festival New Play Contest, a finalist for the Reva Shiner Comedy Award (Bloomington Playwrights Project), a finalist for the Hope on Stage Award (Cornell University & University of Notre Dame), and a winner of the Panndora’s Box New Works Festival.
THE SANDBOX is a new artistic initiative, conceived in 2016 by Playhouse Artistic Director Amy Rubenstein & Artistic Associate Carl Menninger. In the vein of the Playhouse's mainstage programming, this reading series both offers unique opportunities artists, while also creating an inviting space for "non-traditional" theater patrons to get an inside look at the new play development process. Both the reading itself and the discussion to follow will be structured such that theater professionals and novices alike will be able to learn about the writing process, provide critical feedback to the writer, and above all, be entertained.
